The Band
Who We Are

Randy McSpadden
Guitar and Vocals
Randy McSpadden grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he started his lifelong quest of the guitar at the age of 6. Influenced equally by the Beatles and Bob Wills he began playing in country and rock bands as a teen. In the late 70’s after hearing Clarence White he began playing bluegrass. On the first trip to the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas in 1981 he was able to catch a live set by the Dave Grisman Quintet which proved to be pivotal in his musical direction.
In the early 90’s he played in the Tulsa based Bluegrass Band “A Grain of Salt” performing in local and regional venues and festivals. His bands “St Elmer’s Fire” and “From the Top” continued his quest of combining his jazz background with bluegrass and new acoustic music.
Residing in Denver, Colorado from 2011 thru 2024, he has free-lanced in both the bluegrass/ acoustic music scene as well as the vibrant jazz scene on the Front Range. He was a member of the band Silverplume and has performed with the Mark Diamond Bluegrass Blitz, Miss Amy & the Jet Set, Liz Masterson, Kantankerous, Backwoods Galaxy, The Nick Amodeo Trio, The Stanleytones, ACME Bluegrass, & many other Front Range ensembles.
In addition to performing, he teaches intermediate and advanced level guitar students privately & provides band coaching.

Cindi Cone
Fiddle and Vocals
Cindi was born and raised in Connecticut and began her musical journey as a child. With a classically-trained singer for a mom and a guitar-strumming crooner for a dad, she taught herself to sing with a clear, powerful voice, trying to emulate her idol, Cher, as well as many other singers of the 1970s. She found her own voice and a whole new direction in music at the age of 17 when she discovered bluegrass music. She began teaching herself to play fiddle, using her grandfather’s old fiddle, and later began lessons. After a year, she had brought herself to a level that enabled her to attend South Plains College in Levelland, Texas and earn a degree in Bluegrass and Country Music. There she learned how to sing bluegrass and country, and sound authentic while doing it.
Over the last 40+ years Cindi has played in many bands, finally settling in Durango, Colorado in 1995. She was one of the founding members of The Badly Bent out of Durango, CO, with whom she performed regionally in the Four Corners area for 20 years, and has been a Rockygrass Fiddle Contest winner. Over the years Cindi has also played and sung on numerous recording projects in Colorado as well as Nashville. She also freelances a bit and teaches fiddle.
